Illegal Bike Capture

A teenage boy had an unfortunate run-in with a fence after he made off from officers in Middlesbrough.

Utilising the police drone, officers spotted two males with a suspected stolen bike in a field area off Hoskins Way around 12:20pm on Tuesday 21st July, and watched as suspected drug dealing then took place.

As plain clothed officers moved in to intercept, one of them tried to start the motorbike but failed. They then both made off and attempted to scale a garden fence which gave way.

Officers from Middlesbrough Community Action Team and the Task Force, which targets the criminal use of bikes, caught up to one of the suspects in the back garden of a property.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of offences including possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs and theft of a motor vehicle.

Suspected cocaine, cannabis and cash were recovered, along with a motorbike which was reported stolen in the Durham area.

Further cannabis was also located in an address following a subsequent property search.

Enquiries are ongoing in relation to the incident.
